DONDE EL PASADO SIGUE ACAECIENDO

The piece is an installation performed with 1.148 declassified files about Chile printed in double face. This installation includes the volume of declassification and documents censored and ignored. To produce this volume, documents with different levels of folding and wrinkles will be used, making a progression which starts on the wall and continues to space. Documents will be “protected” by impregnating them in a transparent polyester resin.

The following text will be written in a front wall:

  • Up to this moment you have never thought about what is known as existence. I will explain in detail. Does the past exist, in the space? Is there any place anywhere, is there a world with solid objects where the past still lingers on?
  • No.
  • Then, where is the past?
  • In documents. It is written.
  • In documents…and, where else?
  • In the mind. In people’s memory.-In memory. Very well. Then, we control each document and control each memory. Thus, we control the past, don’t we?
