Missing Files – Classify, number and destroy Series

Based on the news of the existence of 40 notebooks detailing the destruction of 19 thousand documents belonging to the period of the Brazilian dictatorship (1964-1985) by the now extinct SNI (Serviço Nacional de Inteligência), which are now kept in the National Archive of Brasília, the work proposes to work with the narrative of the destruction of the documents, the lists that correspond to a meta-archive of the documents that no longer exist and the lists of the destroyed documents.

The work operates with the visualization of these facts, from the three material characteristics of the same: the binding of the lists, the lists themselves, and the incineration of the destroyed documents, as a metaphor that accounts for the possibilities and impossibilities involved in the telling of history.
