
X-Ray
130 years after the discovery of X-rays, is dedicating the exhibition “X-Ray. The Power of X-Ray Vision” to this revolutionary technology. The show consists of around 230 exhibits and artworks by over 28 participants in Völklinger Hütte- Germany
From November 9, 2025, to September 6, 2026, the exhibition will explore how X-rays have influenced art, science, fashion, film, and other fields. I present the work Sindemic Studies from 2022, a series of 13 drawings.
X-RAY is the first exhibition dedicated to the phenomenon of X-rays and the vast cultural and artistic dimensions of radiography. The exhibition places particular emphasis on shedding light on the creative interactions between X-rays and art, cultural history, politics, nature, literature, architecture, music. A host of artists have used X-rays or X-ray images to create their works or have been inspired by X-ray vision. The list reads like a Who’s Who of the international art world from 1900 to the present day: Ai Weiwei, Joseph Beuys, Barbara Bloom, Louise Bourgeois, Christoph Brech, Wim Delvoye, Urs Fischer, Jean Paul Gaultier, Isa Genzken, Gilbert & George, Richard Hamilton, Hubertus Hamm, Mona Hatoum, John Heartfield, Iris van Herpen, Rebecca Horn, Tishan Hsu, Jasper Johns, Voluspa Jarpa, Frida Kahlo, Mike Kelley, William Kentridge, Martin Kippenberger, Jürgen Klauke, Peter Kogler, Barbara Kruger, Frantisek Kupka, Lynn Hershman Leeson, Roberto Longo, Ahmed Mater, Alexander McQueen, Jonathan Meese, Ana Mendieta, László Moholy Nagy, Meredith Monk, Mariko Mori, Edvard Munch, Wangechi Mutu, Yoko Ono, Meret Oppenheim, Gabriel Orozco, Tony Oursler, Eduardo Paolozzi, Francis Picabia, Sigmar Polke, Marc Quinn, Arnulf Rainer, Robert Rauschenberg, Man Ray, Gerhard Richter, Pipilotti Rist, Diego Rivera, Hubert Scheibl, Markus Schinwald, Christoph Schlingensief, Julian Schnabel, Katharina Sieverding, Timm Ulrichs, Wolf Vostell, Andy Warhol, William Wegman.
